Founded by former sushi chef Ken Senju, who trained at one of the world’s most renowned Japanese restaurants, OSS Imports was born from a passion for exceptional ingredients and genuine hospitality. After years behind the sushi counter, he built OSS Imports with a simple philosophy: treat every customer the way he would want to be treated as a chef. Today, that same perspective guides every relationship, every recommendation, and every seafood that gets delivered.

With an unmatched turnaround time of just 24 hours - from the boats and Toyosu Market in Japan to your restaurant in Los Angeles - we deliver exceptional seafood with a level of speed and freshness few can match.
While most seafood is first routed through central wholesale markets, many of our selections are sourced directly from local fishing ports throughout Japan. By working closely with trusted agents and producers at the source, we are able to secure exceptional catches before they reach the market, allowing us to select the finest seafood and preserve its freshness from the very beginning. This streamlined approach shortens the supply chain and enables us to deliver some of Japan’s most prized seafood to chefs around the world.
Unlike conventional distribution channels, where seafood is often sorted and stored at airport facilities upon arrival, OSS Imports moves quickly from customs clearance to delivery. Once shipments arrive at LAX in the morning, they are immediately loaded onto our trucks and delivered directly to restaurants the very same day, ensuring unparalleled freshness and quality from Japan to your kitchen.

Where do we source from?
TOYOSU MARKET
The famous Tsukiji Market moved in October 2018 to Toyosu, which is located in Tokyo Bay. Tokyo Bay is the largest industrialized area with a total of 6 ports and boasts the title of being the busiest import/export hub in all of Asia. The new Toyosu Market is almost twice the size of Tsukiji, making it the biggest fish market in the world.
Many of our selections come from Toyosu but we do source from other famous fish farms from all over Japan. From Fukuoka to Hokkaido, we only deliver fish and other seafood that are specifically grown in certain regions that are best for each species.
The market is known for their live tuna auctions and the new complex now is home to many famous restaurants serving the fresh seafood coming in. The adjoining building also sells fresh fruit and vegetables as well.
Our fish buyers in Toyosu come highly praised and have the reputation of being the best in Japan. Their ability to scout out the best fish out of the whole boat is world renown and we are proud to be in partnership with them.
